hey Daniel sorry about that i got it working i just misspelled the folder sfiii3 with two i's instead of 3 thanx for everything do u know if any of the other roms work?

i found all the information and started playing third strike with others online the same day i started looking for it in the net.

drag 2 files into the main sf3.zip file, put the sf3n.zip in the roms folder, use mame32v0.117 and that's it ladies.

i dont use nebula.

if you know how to read this, and cant get to play 3rd strike online, save up those quarters and take a computers/internet course or something. common sense usually works pretty good.

and this is where im stumped. i can get 2nd impact and 3rd strike to work. new generation doesnt work. all the rom files of new generation i find all over the net are the same. so none of them work. not that i really want to play it. im a sf fan, i just want a full collection of the sf games. i like the feeling of being able to load it when i want.

gus i had the same problem when i tried it on my desktop but it worked fine when i used it on my laptop. it seems that your system is noe capable of running the programme, like daniel siad it will be your video drivers try on a more up to date system

daniel iwas wondering if you could help explain how to use the mame system, i downloaded the emulator and the street figter fighter rom and put the rom in the roms folder but can't seem to get the game to load, when i audit the game it says it is missing so please help.

I got this rom working fine, however, there is a lag in gameplay and the sound tends to skip

Daniel i wasn't talking about third strike but games in general, as i have the mame emulator and some roms but can't get the thing to work at all, i put all the roms in the roms folder but when i do the audit it still doesn't work - it says files missing, any help will be appreciated.

i am using Ge force 7300 Vista with Direct X 10 i think... if not its 9 core 2 duo 2.4

am i able to play sf 3 with these specs?

Thank you for answering, Daniel ^-^ I wanted to play Street Fighter III and Street Fighter III 2nd impact on the CPS3 emulator, but don't know the chd and bin name for the CPS3 emu version.

You must create the proper files inside the the emulator dir one names chd thats where the 33s000.chd file goes then roms/sfiii3 thats where sf33usa.bin goes search google for the files there the first link it took me 50 tries before i relized i forgot the 3 at the end of the sfiii3 file. runs full speed on my pen d 920 gforce 6800 2 gig ram

hey daniel, I downloaded the cps3 1.0a file from the link u provided but it seems to be corrupt. I'm quite a newbie when it comes to emulators n this kinda stuff but realy really wish that i could play sfIII on my pc as we don't get these games here in mumbai. Is there someway u can help ???

Hi Daniel! I've been looking for a bunch of tutorials on how to play Street Fighter III 3rd Impact in my pc for almost 5 days now. I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS GAME! I'm glad I found ur site coz yours is the easiest to follow. I did everything u said but Tim and I have the same problem below.

Ok, disregard my comment above coz I'M PLAYING 3RD STRIKE ALREADY! HAHA! Thanks to Daniel and this site, i finally am playing it. But before I get hooked up on playing, I would like to share how i did it.

After hours and hours of searching for answers, i finally saw the answer to my problem. This is for Tim and all the others who have the same prob as ours. I checked my Video Card/DirectX as suggested by Daniel in Gus' question. Since I had no idea how to do it, I researched and did the following:

1. For windows XP, click START.
2. Click RUN and type "dxdiag" and press enter/click OK.
3. Once ur in the DIRECTX DIAGNOSTIC TOOL, click the tab DISPLAY.
4. Make sure the 3 DirectX Features: DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3d Acceleration and AGP Texture Acceleration are ALL ENABLED.

You see, mine wasn't enabled so I installed my driver again. After my installation, it was ENABLED already.

After that, I don't know if this has something to do with it since I really don't know much about computers but try it anyways:

1. On ur desktop, right click ur mouse and click properties.
2. Click the SETTINGS tab.
3. Click ADVANCED written below.
4. Click the 3D tab and make sure the 3D settings is for Direct3D by clicking it.
5. Click APPLY and OK.

Once all of these are done, you can now play SF III: Third Strike by following Daniel's steps above.

By the way, I would like to get Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact for this also. Any idea where I could get it?

On April 15 Jel posted that when he downloaded the Nebula CPS3 emulator the file was corrupt - now I'm getting the same error message ('invalid or corrupt') when I try to download the emulator. Any suggestions?

hey guys,I finally got 3rd strike to work, but i get stuck on the main screen, none on the keys seem to work, i press "1" and i get an imput screen but i have no idea what button selcts stuff, if someone could help me that would be awesome, thanks.

Okay, I found out what keys do what. But now I have a different problem. I cant use my arcade stick on mame, it works on other emulators and its enabled in windows control panal.

I have selected the joystick in controller and controller mapping. I really dont know what else to do, I read somewhere that the .ini file is sometimes named incorrectly. Anyone know anything about this? A short tutorial would be great if anyone has the time. Im using version cps3-32.

I followed the instructions. It worked like a charm. I'm not sure if I'm getting slowdown, since on my computer, it seems to be the same speed as street fighter II (normal not turbo). I don't know if that's wrong or anything. However, the game plays great (though old).

I just wanted to try the game out before playing it online at GameTap (if it's my favorite out of Guilty Gear X2, Capcom vs. SNK 2, etc.).

Ok this is quite important if you ask me.

DON'T DO AS THE ARTICLE SUGGESTS IF YOU WANT SF3.

there is another way which is to go to http://2dfighter.com/ scroll down there and follow the very easy instructions.

2df is a client which enables you to play countless arcade games, SF3 included, online in a community where you can also chat. it's entirely free, doesn't take very long to sign up and set up. it's very simple and you can play literally dozens upon dozens of classic arcade games by yourself or with others. once 2df is set up you simply need the roms and one other small file to play any of the listed games (the files required for playing are listed in the client).

Alright, for those getting the error: "Unable to locate sf33usa.bin" THis is what worked for me. I made a folder CHD folder at the .exe level and had the 33s000.chd file inside that folder. (This is what i did different) I created a Roms folder at the .exe level with a sfiii3 subfolder in it, and place the sf33usa.bin file in it. and It worked. CPS3 emulator requires all the roms to be in a Roms folder at the same level as the .exe file. And it worked.. yay!
