Curious Java Update Incentive

I booted up my PC today and was greeted with a curious message:

java

I must say, I'm quite liking Sun Microsystems' new strategy. Here are some more suggestions for them:

  • Use Java, and get a free copy of Firefox now!
  • Visit the Java homepage, and we'll tap fresh water to your house!
  • Subscribe to BlueSunCorp now and enjoy a limitless supply of breathable air on our behalf!

    1. I believe this is Sun Microsystem's new strategy to get people to buy StarOffice, Sun's proprietary office suite. Their clever marketing scheme is to get people to try the Open Source version and hope they'll be inspired to buy the proprietary version.

Personally though, I prefer to stick to Open Office, and I'm sure most of the Linux community will agree with me.
